Bottom of the Ocean, 2025

My sister and I are twins.
She lives in Shanghai,
and I live in Montreal—
twelve hours apart.

One evening, she watched the sunset.
and posted on her social media:
“Waiting for the sun to sink
to the bottom of the ocean…”

While the sun was setting for her,
it was rising for me.
So—where I am must be
the bottom of the ocean.
